Our Story.

The SAGE Center was created by Victoria Rhoades as a place to explore creatively, through reflective practitioner research, and to educate. Integrating the influential work of the pedagogies developed by artists at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA and the Relational Psychology work of Carol Gilligan, Niobe Way, Lyn Mikel Brown, among others, we weave together this work with Theatre for Change methods, and the study of human development. We strive to create continually inclusive spaces, and welcome the input of our participants into an ongoing learning and developing practice of creative work. We strive to respond to themes of cultural relevance, while continually engaging in the ongoing work of using the arts as a tool for re-building connection in body, mind and voice, and an invaluable method for building relationship with others - weather it is the fellow performer, the audience, or the world at large.
